VOLUNTEERS

 It is important to identify individuals that are possible volunteers and donors to begin getting help and money to run and finance your campaign.  The following may help in identifying potential staff, volunteers, and donors:

  1. Obtain voter registration data for your campaign area by requesting an electronic file from the applicable county or the Secretary of state containing the following information

Voter ID number

Voter complete name (first, middle, last, suffix )

Address ( street number, street name, City, State, ZIP code)

Birth date

Date Voter registered

Phone number

Voted in prior elections

                 Most recent non-presidential primary election

Most recent non-presidential general election

Last presidential primary

Last presidential general election

Voter Status (Active, Suspense, etc.)

B. Obtain voter information from your political party.  Request access to your party’s information so you can run queries to retrieve information about voters. 

Minimum information required is as follows:

  Voter ID number

Voter complete name (first, middle, last, suffix)

Address ( street number, street name, City, State, ZIP code)

Birth date

Date Voter registered

Phone number

Mobil

Land line

Political party voter rating (such as, strong, weak, swing, etc.)

Match paragraph A to paragraph B above and then decide how to strategically organize your campaign.  Possibilities follow:

Consider contacting party strong individuals that voted in the prior Presidential Election to block walk, send out manual text messages, and ask for donations.

Consider targeting non-affiliated voters to encourage them to vote for you based on your policies.
